The Full Potential of Style and Performance to be on Display at ABSDA 2023

JELD-WEN^®of Canada’s Saint-Apollinaire plant chose to participate in the Association de Vitrerie et Fenestration du Québec (AVFQ) scholarship program again and the son of an employee wins a university scholarship.

The AVFQ awards scholarships each year to the students of its members’ employees that are enrolled in university or college. Faced with current and future challenges in terms of the workforce, the companies that participate in the AVFQ Scholarship program believe that it is essential to encourage the next generation in the industry.

An independent jury of the AVFQ carefully examined the applications and designated Éloi Martin, son of the head of maintenance Yvan Martin, the winner in the university category. Éloi will be granted a scholarship of $1,750.

Éloi is studying for a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at Laval University in Québec. His curiosity for electricity, mechanics and automation combined with his interest in physics and mathematics led him to choose a profession that matches his personality. Éloi currently has the opportunity to put his knowledge into practice during a summer internship at JELD-WEN. He is the third generation of his family to work in the St-Apollinaire plant. His grandfather was in the custom wood department for over 40 years.
